Episode 03: Circle B Maintenance
Left to Right: Guest Host Freddie, Host Jeanette Lorentz-Forni, Guest Brandon Buchholz
In this episode of the Small Business Voice, Jeanette Forni is joined by co-host Freddie Mojica, a 28-year-old entrepreneur and owner of ENF Services LLC — a Central Valley exterior cleaning company specializing in solar panel cleaning, pressure washing, window cleaning, and gutters. Freddie brings his own firsthand perspective on small business ownership to the conversation, making for a dynamic episode full of entrepreneurial insight.
The featured guest is Brandon Buchholz, owner of Circle B Maintenance, located at 18149 East River Road in Riverbank. Brandon's story is one of patience, passion, and a well-timed nudge. After spending years learning the trade at Burns Truck and Trailer Services in Ripon, his own employer encouraged him to finally go out on his own — at age 40, with a wife, three children, and everything on the line. He took the leap anyway, and hasn't looked back.
What sets Circle B Maintenance apart is the sheer range of what Brandon will tackle. He handles everyday mechanical repairs and inspections, but also classic car restorations, school bus repairs, semi-trucks, ag equipment, food trucks, well pumps, small engines, and even emergency roadside service. He's currently working on a full body-off restoration of a 1979 Chevrolet pickup that was dismantled in the 1980s and brought to him in pieces in paint bins. He's also rebuilding a 1919 lathe and has worked on a 1948 Crown school bus with a red diamond engine — fabricating parts from scratch using an in-house lathe when none are available to purchase.
Jeanette shares personal stories about her own vehicles Brandon has serviced — including a Dodge Charger that had been sitting for a year and stumped every other mechanic, which Brandon fixed by manufacturing a discontinued intake manifold part himself. She also highlights the concierge-style service: Brandon picks up and drops off vehicles, involves customers in every decision, and even answers his phone — something Jeanette emphasizes more than once.
Brandon's wife plays an active role in the business too, handling emails and producing custom decals and racing stripes through her own printing setup. The episode also touches on the growing shortage of skilled trade workers, the importance of supporting local mechanics, and Brandon's unique approach to finding apprentices — asking candidates what three things they can do with a pencil to gauge whether they think like a problem-solver or a tool-user.
Whether you have a classic car project, a food truck that needs California compliance work, a broken-down semi, or just a car that nobody else can figure out — Circle B Maintenance is the place to call.
