Episode 14: Justin Duncan
Listeners have been asking — and now they have their answer. In this episode of the Small Business Voice, host Jeanette Forney welcomes back former co-host Justin Duncan, recorded live from his living room, to share what he's been up to since stepping away from the show. The short version: he wrote a novel. The longer version is far more interesting. What started as a curiosity about AI turned into a fully written trilogy, a screenplay, and a publishing deal in the works. Justin walks Jeanette through the whole journey — from typing out a single car accident scene just to see how AI would render it, to developing a cast of eight or nine characters, to finishing all three books in a matter of months. He and Jeanette also dig into the business side of authorship: finding a publisher through a TV commercial in Eureka, submitting to a review board, having an attorney look over the contract, and preparing for the marketing push that comes after signing. It's a candid, energetic conversation about creativity, entrepreneurship, and what happens when you finally give yourself permission to try something completely new.
